Description: An excellent 40s era skirt suit made of midweight, soft, deep reddish brown & black tweed Fortsmann 100% virgin wool. Labeled Peg Newton, Exclusive Designs, Tall Gals.
It has a shorter length jacket with 3/4 length french cuffed sleeves, a slit slanted breastpocket detail, finished button holes & same fabric buttons. The very high waisted skirt has a metal zipper side closure and is darted both front & back with a slim fit through the hips falling in length to the mid calf region. Both pieces are lined in black rayon (the skirt to just below the hips). No size labels.
