Description: A smartly tailored early 1940s vintage wool suit in a dark mahoghany brown & light blue windowpane tweed. This is labeled Bonwit Teller, Fifth Ave. New York. The jacket has a fitted, darted waist, substantially padded shoulders, multi buttoned front & front slit pockets. The jacket is also fully lined in russet colored satin fabric. The skirt has a banded waist with metal zippered side opening, inverted pleating for ease of movement and is unlined. The jacket has a tiny dark spot at the very edge of 1 cuff & a nick in the fabric in the back, upper shoulder region - otherwise in terrific shape, professionally cleaned to freshen.
