Description: This burlap weave cotton artist's smock or dress is a rare and wonderful example of everyday wear from the 40s era. This could also possibly have been maternity wear also. Charmingly accented with a bit of green leaf embroidery around the 2 buttonholes on the front yoke with the same on the single hip level patch pocket. The large red celluloid buttons form cherries and there's a bit of red piping accenting the front yoke here too. There's a small snap at the midsection as well for closure with pleating in both the front & back for comfort. The full length sleeves have buttoned cuffs and there is the remnants of a maker label though it's unreadable. In nice condition with just a bit of faint yellowing at the midsection which didn't remove with a professional cleaning,
